Hello everyone i've been trading for a little over 1 year and have been using a very good EMA crossing strategy to take trades (not to derail main topic but I can explain my strategy if you would like).

I was wondering if you think it is a good idea to pay someone to make my strategy into an EA or possibly at least an indicator with alerts? Do you guys find having this is better or worse?

Also where do you guys go to find developers? I have been looking on fiverr and I narrowed it down to the top 2 that I am considering:
https://www.fiverr.com/forexgenie/build-your-mt4-or-mt5-strategy-expert-advisor-or-indicator

Please let me know if this is something that would work or if trading manually would be more accurate.

Why did you decide to narrow your search down to a developer with zero reviews? I find Fiverr selection of MQL4/5 developers very poor. Choosing someone with no reviews there is just begging for a poor customer experience.

In my experience, Upwork is much better for that kind of work.

I would love to hear more about the strategy!
A friend of mine did a similar thing a couple of years ago and it turned out pretty well for him. He also went through Upwork I believe.

Automated trading is good it eliminates human emotions but does not always promise profits, I am a beginner in trading and lost alot . After some time I turned to the copy trading it worked for me along with automated trading.

Hi Vince,

For a strategy that's based on an EMA crossover, if you are even moderately proficient at Python, you can build it yourself (to save time and effort, you can use ChatGPT, or Gemini, or even refer Github).

If not, you can check out the rent-a-coder srvice from the IBridgePy website: https://ibridgepy.com/rent-a-coder/.

The IBridgePy is a wrapper created by Dr. Hui Liu, a reputed name in Algo Trading.

Do note that I am not affiliated to the above website.

Hope it helps!

If we have a profitable trading strategy, automated trading gives more advantages, it's like assistant trading to replace hands to decide whether to buy or sell without intervention by emotion, but yes it's not always profitable, many factors be reasons.

I think he won't read this )))

Exactly, you can depend on automation for the execution part of your trading plan but you will have to stay alert on any price movements. I don't think automation would be any help there.

Traders who automate trades may need to manually control when an automated trade might harm the trading account, but the downside of manual traders is that they cannot monitor the trading account all day long.

Don’t you think manual traders have an upper hand here in regards to changing market conditions?

Yeah! Manual ones stay in control. How do you balance these two?

In my opinion, the manual trading is the best and mostly preferred by all of the professional traders around the world however we can still have option for taking our trading to next level which is automation. So we can get our profitable strategy coded into an EA but that has its own pros and cons like buying a vps and monitoring the EA during volatile markets etc.

Manual trading gives full control but a good EA can save time. Have you tried automating?

Yes, markets are dynamic, and not all price movements follow predictable patterns. However, automation still has its advantages especially in speed, efficiency, and emotionless execution. Many pro traders actually use a hybrid approach: they automate repetitive tasks and trade execution but intervene manually when markets behave unpredictably.

kinda thinking about this too lol manual trading fries my brain sometimes but idk if i trust bots yet... anyone here actually making it work?
