Question about stock Broker faliure

Hello may I ask you somenthing?

I am EU citizen (I am german)

I would like to buy stocks of an USA company

The fast way to buy them is trought a Broker (ETF)

My question is:


What will happen if I buy a stock (ETF) with Broker, then after 10 years that broker dosen't exist anymore?

What about my profits (if any)?

Example: I open a long position in XXX stocks (ETF) with broker ''Forex XX''...

After two years that broker has failed.

What will happen to my position? If any profit, will them be paid?

Only regulation will allow you to partially or completely recover damages so be careful with choosing broker

If the broker is regulated and there is some compensation scheme, you will get your position refunded in case of the company's failure.
