what is a 'repaint'

Hi All

at times I read on forums that some graphic slopes do or do-not repaint.
These are generally with indicators when I read about them.
what do I assume by a 'repaint' ?
is it a basically a refresh ?

When we say that an indicator is "repainting", we mean that its display on the past bars can change when new bars arrive. Such indicators look nice, but they are very misleading.
