You made some good points, although I do think it's okay to start with a small amount of capital if you're an apprehensive beginner. I personally started with a $10 deposit but it didn't take me long to decide to go for it and sink a few hundred dollars into my account. Strategies are also one of the most important aspects to trading, along with the need to practice those on a demo account.
