Hello everyone,

I’ve been trading Forex and synthetic indices for a while now, mostly experimenting and testing different automated systems and strategies on MT5. Still experimenting with new ideas and learning every day. Looking forward to sharing ideas and learning from you all.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone here and start connecting with other traders who use bots or trade manually. How’s everyone’s week in the markets been so far?

Mostly traders prefer trading manual and so that i also trade manually however if someone want to take their trading on automation they can still get their strategy into an EA as well.

Experimenting is the best way to learn.
My week’s been a mix of small wins and facepalms, typical grind. If you’re testing EAs, don’t overcomplicate things, and always remember that automation doesn’t mean set-and-forget.

Hi too, I'm probably one of those who still trade forex traditionally without an automated trading system or trading bots. The forex market is always dynamic, requiring quick and strict adaptation to both trading rules and risk management.

While I agree with the sentiment that one should learn trading manually before implementing an EA (if their own system), I have always been skeptical of anyone selling a "profit-making" EA online for $19.95 or $1000. Having a look at many EAs online, I am constantly vindicated as to why my skepticism is well founded. Look into the historical trades and that will tell you a lot as to why you should steer clear buying EAs.

Good books and lots of demo are still the core, but what helped me was focusing on one pair and logging 50 trades of the same setup. The discipline matters more than another YouTube playlist

If you’re just starting out, it’s a good idea to follow market news closely, practice on demo accounts, and learn from experienced members here.

Many traders test bots first on demo accounts to see how they perform under different conditions before committing real funds.

I build and test EAs and I agree with the warning about shiny bots for sale. I only trust a system after walk forward and out of sample plus at least 3 months live on micro with slippage tracked. Automation helps execution for me, it does not print money

Walk‑forward testing, out‑of‑sample validation, and running a system live on micro with slippage tracked are exactly the kind of steps that separate serious EA development from marketing hype.
