MetaTrader 4 Templates

I have been using Meta 4 for quite a while but a question came up recently that I could not answer. A friend had purchased a trading system that came with a MetaTrader template. The system operates on a colour code. I.e you trade when it shows Green (buy) and Red (sell). It also gives you alerts built in.
Anyway, he said that he might not keep it and send it back at the end of the 45 day trial. He reckons they will then block the template?
I said I didn't think they could do that. They can stop access to their web site but I am sure they couldn't stop you using the template?
Anyone know the answer to this? Cheers.

No, template is not programmed, it just contains rules for chart display. But... If the template adds their indicators to the chart, they could make those indicators remove some of the chart objects after 45 days. The problem is solved by removing all their installed custom indicators.

Hi, thanks for the reply. He tells me they have given him a password for it, so I assume it must be an EA? I take it they could stop the password at the end of the 45 days to stop him having access? Is that right. Thanks
