"Low global demand" for what? Oil? Lower oil prices are positively influencing any industry other than oil extraction and related (piping). That certainly drives stocks up. See this WTI vs. S&P500 chart for reference:

but the still there is no clear picture for oil prices, OPEC has maintained its status on output, there might be no considerable upward movement int he rates right know.
