Easy to say. Live spreads give you a half picture of transaction costs, frequent slow execution can make up to 90% of what you pay market maker and broker to open and close trades.

That is why I dont got for market makers 🙂

It can happen with ECN brokers too, you have to compare conditions in average, single cases don't give a full picture.

Depends upon what do u call as a good broker? For me a broker who gives timely deposits/ withdrawals even if it is unregulated is good. As in the end withdrawals matters the most. So find a broker whos reviews online do not mention about withdrawal issues, swaps n spreads u can ignore..

Regulation is the top priority for me, followed by good trading conditions such as narrow spreads,affordable commissions and quick withdrawals. Thats the reason I stick to brokers like fxview which fit my needs pretty well. Always make a checklist and see which broker fits your glove.

Find out about ECN brokers that are based in developed countries.
And , Most ECN brokers have a demo account, see if it is possible to trade, how much is the commission cost or spreads...

You can always use online review sites like this one to see honest feedback from real users. However, we each have our own needs so some may think one broker is great while another may not. You have to determine what leverage you're looking for, what kind of assets you'd like to trade, etc. and compare options that offer everything you need. Deposits, withdrawals, and fees are also a big one because you don't want fees to eat up all your profits.
