MT4 is so popular because they were the first to offer a free (for traders) powerful trading platform with convenient way to create and share open source custom indicators/EAs.

Well as a Newbie,I find the MT4 very useful,comfy and friendly to use.It has features that that can be easily adapted by beginners.I am well off with this platform have no plans now to move to a different platform
