ETH's potential still looks very good with so much crypto industry infrastructure projects based on the Ethereum blockchain.
You know, I do not know if there is possible to make something like that... but I do want to tell you there is something like for example Alt coins talks forums and you can really grasp a lot of info about so called alternative cryptocurrencies - a lot of them prospective.

Yep. XRP also seems good for investment but may be it will need more time. Defo it`s in my HODL target for the next year.
If I had to guess... it would probably either be a very high throughput blockchain or a high privacy/feature blockchain. Maybe monero?
