Does any trade the news or stay out during high-impact news releases?

Just wanted to know how my fellow traders work their strategy out. Do you trade in volatile conditions or not

I usually prefer to stay out until the first reaction settles. High-impact news can move too fast, and protecting the account matters more than catching one move.

depends a lot on the release for me. stuff like nfp or cpi i mostly stay out of the first 15-30 min, seen too many fake spikes that reverse hard right after. but for slower building news (like the yen intervention story this week) i'll actually trade it since the move tends to play out over hours/days instead of one violent candle

curious what pushed you to ask this now specifically, tonight's cpi or just building your overall approach

definitely wanna stay clear of nfp and cpi right when they drop, those wild whipsaws just shake you right out of a position. personally i always keep ninja bull up on the screen to check the macro bias first, then wait for the dust to settle before looking for an entry.
