Stop Loss Issue in Strategy Tester

Hi,

I am working on an EA and I have been having problems with MT4 Strategy Tester. I have worked out that there is a problem with the Stop Loss distance.

When placing manual trades, I can certainly place trades at 5 pips. So I would have thought that I should be able to test with at least that.

So I put some code in the EA to journal the MODE_STOPLEVEL . The Strategy Tester gives me MODE_STOPLEVEL = 140. Which I understand to be 14 pips.

If I put the EA on a demo account, I get MODE_STOPLEVEL = 40 but the Strategy Tester keeps using 140.

I have changed the account logged into from one broker to another, live to demo, but this doesn't change the Strategy Testers MODE_STOPLEVEL.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

There is no way to control the MODE_STOPLEVEL value in the Strategy Tester. You can try switching to another broker's MT4 to change it.

Thank you for that!

I changed to another broker's MT4 and got something more reasonable. It is baffling to me that this is not something that you can adjust it in MT4 tester.
