Hi
at times when I have placed a pending order , by some charting tools I notice that a specific order first moves to a 'position' before executing itself completely. This tells me that when the 'line is approaching' an order will shift itself to a 'position' for some time before it gets itself killed for the better or worse :). but thats a layman's definition ofcouse..
any other better explanations for the 'positions' definition here please ?

Thx.

What trading platform are you talking about? In MT4, there is no difference between an order and a position (they are all orders there). In MT5, positions are "holdings" of some currencies while orders are just orders to execute something. For example, when you order to buy 1 lot of EUR/USD in MT5, it executes and becomes a position.
