So...I happen to have some amount to invest and planning to create a small forex brokerage, charging just 0.1 pips on eur/usd and other majors and 1 pip on all others. Would it be a good idea? Or people will stick to known names, like fxcm, forex.com, etc? 10x!

Eh... How will you earn profit with such low spreads?

I think this is about being a market maker and use the positions of your clients to make money.

There are other companies around offering majors with no spreads. Wether they are reliable or not I leave that to your own judgement.

Plus, if you want to base your company in US or Europe you will need something more than "some amount" as securities so you get your banking license granted.

Sometimes I doubt the topics in this forum are serious at all.
