Hey everyone! I'm relatively new to cryptocurrency and have been reading about the risks of scams and fraud in this space. Before diving into any investments, I want to ensure I'm well-prepared to avoid potential scams.
What warning signs or red flags should I watch out for before committing to a cryptocurrency investment? I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice on how to evaluate opportunities safely and protect myself from fraud!
Thanks in advance for your help!

First thing first, 99.9% of cryptocurrency investment schemes you see online are probably scams. And here are some tell-tale signs:
1. Promise of high yields.
2. Promise of guaranteed yields.
3. Lack of regulation.
4. Lack of coherent registration and office location information.
5. Lack of transparency regarding the investment product.

The crypto market and forex market are high risk investments, so we have to be wary of investments that promise guaranteed high profits. Too high to be true is usually an indication of a scam. Just invest where we understand the potential gains and risks.

Definitely smart to be cautious. If something promises guaranteed returns or sounds too good to be true, it’s usually a scam. Also, avoid projects with no clear team or whitepaper, and be wary of anyone asking you to send crypto first or invest fast due to “limited time offers.” Stick to well-known platforms and always do your research.

Fraud in the crypto market is probably more common than fraud in the forex market, many developers build new coins, but they have no value, set up scam exchanges, and more.

Watch out for promises of guaranteed returns, lack of transparency, high pressure sales tactics, and poorly written websites.
Too good to be true is one of the characteristics of a scam, guaranteed profits and high returns with no risk are mostly just lies.

Abnormal returns is the key red flag in my view. Reasonable returns in crypto investing is 10% monthly in my view

Watch out for promises of guaranteed returns, pressure to invest quickly, unverified or anonymous projects, and any lack of transparency. Always do your own research, use reputable platforms, and be cautious of high-risk schemes that sound too good to be true.

If it's telling you that they have an AI that will get you 30 ETH a day, they are lying and that's the type of promises they all make, oh I have a robot, I have developed some Al XD

LOL exactly. If someone promises crazy returns, that's a huge red flag. I’ve seen a lot of scams that claim to have some "secret" AI that guarantees profits. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Always do your own research and stay cautious!

Yes, too high to be true is a red flag for scammers, CFTC also gives a warning, that AI can't know what happen on the future.

This is the funniest thing I read today. Only if AI could really predict the future! Anything that says secret AI system or guaranteed profits should be straightaway understood as scams! The market is so volatile even the best most experienced traders sometimes go out of luck! Don’t fall for this trap.

Maybe some investors rely on AI in their trading, I think big institutions like UBS, Morgan, etc Stanley also have special divisions developing AI for investment, and maybe they spend millions of dollars on it, but as a retail investor, I think it's better to stick to the golden rule of investing money In high-risk business, only spend money that we can afford to lose.

Agreed! AI itself isn’t a scam, but there are definitely people out there misleading others in its name. We just need to stay alert and informed to avoid falling for such tactics.

The growth of AI is very massive nowadays and has not only penetrated the world of finance but also other fields, I think the presence of AI still has its advantages and disadvantages, bad people use AI for bad purposes, good people use AI for good purposes.

Exactly my point, it's all an attempt to abuse the environment of the market, lure them in, take their money and use the same "AI" to disappear.

So true! We should always question anything that sounds too good to be true—because it probably is 😀
