GM & Chrysler Receive Failing Grades

GM & Chrysler, the two members of the big 3 which have consistently needed financial assistance from the federal government since the beginning of the recession, received failing grades Monday on their efforts to structure a plan which will be beneficial for taxpayers, shareholders, consumers and ultimately the companies themselves.

While Obama made it clear that the two American icons will not be receiving blank checks, he gave GM 60 days to restructure their business plan and Chrysler 30 days to complete it's merger with automaker Fiat. Investors are looking ahead to bright a future for the American auto industry, however increasing debt poor restructuring plans thus far can make any shareholder skeptical.
