Default Trading this week?

Does it makes sense to be trading the week before Christmas? Or is it a waste of time?

It does make a perfect sense if you broker isn't widening your spread.

What's the difference compared to any other week.
Be careful though, it's good to double your money for christmas presents, but it will be terrible if you loose them.

I am on the sidelines until the new year....By personal preference not by strategy. I'd say it depends on your method of trading. For Fundamental or larger timeframe traders there usually isn't much going on.....

I didn't know that.
Personally I prefer to take a week off to have enough cash for Christmas presents. Knowing how good trader I am, the chance of loosing the presents money rather than double them is noticeable bigger.

I'm not going to trade for the next 2-3 days, Xmas shopping to wrap up, and got to organize so many things. So, taking time off for Xmas actually makes sense..

The US stock market was closed yesterday (12/26/11) and the volumes in the Forex markets are extremely low. The currency pairs are remaining unchanged and the volatility is zero. These kinds of days are dangerous than usual to the forex traders because the market gives very few opportunities for good trades and the risk is getting higher.
One of the options to avoid this higher risk is to take a few days off until the holiday ends. Meanwhile, you can practice demo or anything else that works for you. However, it is possible to find some rare opportunities but then you have to take precautions such as using smaller than usual sizes etc. Good luck and Happy new year to all of us !
