Hello everyone,
I was just wondering for the experienced trader how long will you normally wait for a trade, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour? I've been placing a lot of trades in my demo account that I feel are more than likely to land ITM, but I'm 3 for my last 12. I think I'm getting a little impatient, obviously.

Sometimes days--The critical factor is not the time consumed between trades but rather waiting fo the formation of that particular chart pattern that triggers a trade for you. Patience is a valuable asset in this game. If your basic strategy is sound , than your time will come. Preservation of capital and protecting your assets, is half the battle and waiting for that ripe moment to exersize your trading ability and demonstrate the viability of your strategy may be the other half if indeed your plan is sound. A wiser mind than mine summed it up nicely " Float like a butterfly-- sting like a bee"

I think the best time frame for me is the 1-hour time frame, since you don't have to look every minute and its not that hard.

There is no such thing as the best time frame for all. Every trader is different and therefore will prefer a different time frame to trade.

Some months (usually DEC/JAN) I don't have trade opportunities at all. I trade 1-6 times a month. The market pays you to sit on your hands. Profitable trading is boring trading.

Profitable trading is boring trading.

I disagree with that statement. Of course it depends on your trading strategy, but I would never say I am bored doing what I am doing.

Please could you tell us the full meaning of 'ITM?' Thanks.

I think he's talking about binary trading, hence ITM (in the money).

I agree with the others that said there are no "fit to all" time frame in forex. Actually there is nothing that will fit to everyone in forex. Not a strategy, not a system, not a pair, not a style - and not a time frame.

My personal favorite is M1. But that's me.
