On 1, I'm not a newbie and have not been one for long but would have to say that the trades featured on bloomberg snagged me onto the market and rest is history..
On 2, depends - usually Asia open and US mid
3, It really boils down to how you apply your trading skills, irrespective of whether you trade for 1 hr or for 1 hr in a week..but yes, actual experience does pay.
