As promised, Alexander Collins revealed what is better than indicator based trading. This is the strategies he uses in his Forex Thor Expert Advisor. After watching the video, I think Alexander is on to something.

First, Alexander goes over why indicator based systems look better than they really are. I’m sure we can all relate to this. And while I insist it is still possible to make money using indicator based systems, what Forex Thor proposes is quite interesting. This method looks to trade the markets with information not readily available to the retail Forex trader. (And even if it was, it might be too complex to be put into use).

He talks about Level 2, or Order Book Data. And quite frankly, I did not understand it all. But the good thing is I don’t have to… because Forex Thor does it all for you. If you have been disappointed by Forex robots before, this is something different with real possibilities.

The thing I really like about this EA is the very tight stop (8-10 pips) and great risk to reward ratio (1:3). Usually robots risk hundreds of pips and take profit very quickly. Forex Thor is the other way around. And since it did over 400% in 2011, it seems this strategy is working great!
