Chart Analysis

IFC Markets Tech Analysis

On the daily timeframe, NZDUSD: D1 approached the uptrend support line. It should be broken down before opening a position. A number of technical analysis indicators formed signals for further decline. We do not exclude a bearish movement if NZDUSD: D1 falls below the last lower fractal: 0.709. This level can be used as an entry point. We can place a stop loss above the maximum since July 2017, the upper Bollinger line, the last upper fractal and the Parabolic signal: 0.747. After opening a pending order, we can move the stop loss to the next fractal high following the Bollinger and Parabolic signals. Thus, we change the potential profit/loss ratio in our favor. After the transaction, the most risk-averse traders can switch to the four-hour chart and place a stop loss, moving it in the direction of the bias. If the price meets the stop loss (0.747) without activating the order (0.709), it is recommended to delete the order: the market sustains internal changes that have not been taken into account.

Fundamental Analysis

New Zealand published weak macroeconomic data. Will the NZDUSD quotes continue to decline? The Business NZ PMI dropped to 53.4 in February from 58 in January. In February 2021, Retail Electronic Retail Card Spending decreased by 5.3% yoy, after a 1.9% increase in January. On March 18, GDP for Q4 2020 will be released in New Zealand, which may affect the dynamics of the New Zealand dollar. In addition, there will be a lot of important statistics affecting NZDUSD this week. Among other events, a Fed meeting will be held. China is the main buyer of New Zealand commodities. The aggravation of the US-China trade disputes may become a negative factor for NZDUSD. The PRC demanded that the United States cease pressure on Chinese companies, including Huawei. President Joe Biden’s administration had previously banned American firms from supplying China with some of the electronic components used in 5G mobile networks.

CHF/JPY Technical Analysis

On the daily timeframe, CHFJPY: D1 is in a downtrend and has made a fresh low. A number of technical analysis indicators formed signals for further decline. We do not rule out a bearish movement if CHFJPY: D1 falls below the latest low and lower Bollinger band: 137.4. This level can be used as an entry point. The initial risk limit is possible above the last 2 upper fractals, the upper Bollinger band, the 200-day moving average line and the Parabolic signal: 147. After opening a pending order, we move the stop following the Bollinger and Parabolic signals to the next fractal low. Thus, we change the potential profit/loss ratio in our favor. The most cautious traders, after making a trade, can switch to a four-hour chart and set a stop loss, moving it in the direction of movement. If the price overcomes the stop level (147) without activating the order (137.4), it is recommended to delete the order: there are internal changes in the market that were not taken into account.

Fundamental Analysis of Forex - CHF/JPY

On January 18, 2023, the meeting of the Bank of Japan (BOJ) will take place. Will CHFJPY quotes continue to decline?

Such dynamics means the strengthening of the yen against the Swiss franc. The Japanese newspaper Yomiuri reported that at the next meeting, the BOJ may discuss the effectiveness of its policy in the government bond market (yield curve control policy (YCC). Its actions are viewed by investors as a tightening of monetary policy and contribute to the strengthening of the yen. Recall that at the end of December 2022, the BOJ expanded its YCC yield range for the first time, pushing the Japan 10-Year Bond yield up from 0.25% to 0.5% pa and appreciably strengthening the yen. It could reach 132 billion Swiss francs ($143 billion). This may have a negative impact on the Swiss franc. It should be noted that on January 19 in Japan the trade balance will be released and on January 20 - inflation. In Switzerland, January 19 will be published producer price index.

Toyota Motor Technical Analysis

The technical analysis of the Toyota Motor stock price chart on daily timeframe shows #S-TM, Daily has reversed its retreating after hitting three-month low three weeks ago and is rising toward the 200-day moving average MA(200). We believe the bullish momentum will continue after the price breaches above the upper bound of Donchian channel at 147.77. This level can be used as an entry point for placing a pending order to buy. The stop loss can be placed below 141.47. After placing the order, the stop loss is to be moved every day to the next fractal low, following Parabolic indicator signals. Thus, we are changing the expected profit/loss ratio to the breakeven point. If the price meets the stop loss level (141.47) without reaching the order (147.77), we recommend cancelling the order: the market has undergone internal changes which were not taken into account.
