Asking a help of how to use COT report.

Hi! I don't know exactly how to use COT report. Do we focus on the percentage of open interest or on the number of trader on each category under Long and Short contracts? May you please clarify me how and how to deduct the direction of the trend.

In my opinion, it only makes sense to focus on a change of long and short positions under different categories. But I don't use COT report data often.

hey thom..... assuming your speaking of forex, focus on the large specs net positions..... pay special attention to when the net position cross the 0 line..... also watch when their net positions reaches recent past extremes.... as example, euro large spec net positive position is at a 20 year high i believe.....

for the trend direction, that is charted in the normal manner......

if your speaking of cot reports like grains and such, stay tuned with the seasons.....h
