Demo conditions are never the same as real accounts, also there is a lot more emotion when trading real, so far more likely to make mistakes.

I am not making a living but I am bringing in a little bit each month, currently around £500 a month in profits.

Personally I never trust a broker giving away a bonus, don't know why, just doesn't sit right. Tickmill have been ok in the past for me, but stopped using them a year or so ago.

The spread depends where you trade, some brokers offer very small spreads, others larger. It depends on their commission structure.

I have never seen a broker where the demo and real accounts have exactly the same slippage and spreads. There are always discrepancies, it is a reason why you can sometimes see a strategy work on a demo account, but then fail on alive account.

Firstly, anything that I have deposited, I ensure to withdraw, that way no deposited capital is lost. I then ensure that a single trade does not take up more than 5% of my entire balance. Not being afraid to take a loss is also important and not to chase losses.
