Schaff Trend Cycle Converted for cTrader (+ Alerts)

December 18, 2015 (Last updated on January 25, 2018) by

Four years ago, I have converted Schaff Trend Cycle (STC) for MetaTrader (MT4 and MT5) and uploaded it to In March 2014, I also shared an MT4 version with limited alerts capability. Starting from today, you can get a free Schaff Trend Cycle indicator for cTrader. Also, MT4 and MT5 versions now have four types of alerts to work with. Unfortunately, there is nothing I could do to add alerts to the cTrader version of STC.

The four alert types are the following:

  • Arrows placed in the main chart window — above and below the bars where signals were generated.
  • Display alerts — native MetaTrader alert system.
  • Sound alerts.
  • Email alerts. Do not forget to set up your email configuration in the platform’s options.

All alerts can be turned on and off via input parameters.

cTrader version’s source code is not a big deal different from that of MetaTrader versions. Some things are done simpler in cTrader (processing bars), others — in MetaTrader (control of the result). Alerts might be added later when Spotware implements the necessary changes to its cAlgo.

I have downloaded your file for Schaff Trend Cycle Converted for cTrader (+ Alerts) but WIN10 gives me he following error message: “This file does not have an app associated for performing this function”

I also see that the file extension for the exe file is .cs where as other cTrader indicators end with a .algo

Can you please review your file and advise. I would luv to be able to load on this indicator, Thank You Sir.

You don’t need to launch the file. You need to copy it to the C:\Users\\Documents\cAlgo\Sources\Indicators folder. It is a source file, so you need compile it with cTrader code editor to produce a .algo file.
