Rather Pointless Australian Broker — Vantage FX

January 22, 2010 (Last updated on May 18, 2012) by

Update: The information presented below is mostly outdated. Vantage FX is a corporate authorized representative of Enfinium Pty Ltd and is not a white label partner of GOMarkets. You can get the most up-to-date information about Vantage FX here:

The latest Forex broker that I’ve added to my site today is Vantage FX. It’s a white label partner of another Australian broker — GOMarkets. It’s a separate company regulated by ASIC, but in terms of the retail Forex services it doesn’t add anything new as a broker compared to GOMarkets. The only thing that’s making them worth adding to my site is their tools for developing, testing and hosting the expert advisors for the MetaTrader 4 platform. So, if you prefer automated trading then this broker has some positive features to offer, otherwise you won’t be too excited by the conditions:

  • Leverage can be as high as 1:300.
  • The minimum to start trading is $120.
  • Spreads fluctuate between 1 and 2 pips for the EUR/USD currency pair.
  • Expert advisor database, VPS hosting for MT4 and EA Test Lab.
  • Trade gold and silver in addition to traditional Forex.
  • No convenient ways to deposit/withdraw money.

Vantage has a great trading tool – strategy builder. I setup an account and got access pretty quickly.

Your heading seems a little harsh. Vantage FX is a great Australian broker and I even received a funding credit with my first deposit. Funding can be done by credit card and my payment was accepted online.

This broker is a lot more stable than GO-Markets and my leverage is actually 500:1. Maybe you should update your inaccurate information.

    Keep trading.

Hey, there’s a date near the post. It was written more than 6 months ago, the company has changed since that time.

I have been with vantage FX for nearly a year. They phone back with any email enquiries promptly. Provide great assistance with modifying indicators and trading systems.
I would like to see a more fluid way of transfering money in and out of my VantageFx account.

These guys are pretty worrying, i funded my account made some money and sent thru my withdrawal 10 days ago and it still has not arrived. I get the feeling they are a very small shop with few staff.

I have reported them to ASIC as I really worried.

That’s very sad to hear. Please keep us updated of your situation.

As an Australian, only new to FX markets.
Who would you consider as the top 3 (in Australia), as an FX provider.

I’m looking to start trading with 5k?

In no particular order: VantageFX, GOMarkets, SynergyFX.

I’ve been talking to a few F.X. providers with an understanding of trading the majors, particularly the EURO & AUD vs. USD. I end up talking to junior salesman and even worst senior sales managers, when I really want to talk to an experienced broker or ex trader. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
