April 15, 2014 by

EUR/USD fell in the first half of today’s trading session and was moving sideways afterwards, but jumped later and hangs currently near the opening level unsure where to go. In the United States, inflation accelerated somewhat last month, but New York manufacturing was flat, frustrating specialists who have predicted faster growth of the sector.

US CPI rose 0.2% in March, while analysts have expected to increase at the February rate of 0.1%. (Event A on the chart.)

NY Empire State Index sank from 5.6 in March to 1.3 in April. The actual figure missed the forecast value of 8.2 completely. (Event B on the chart.)

Net foreign purchases rose $85.7 billion in February. It was bigger increase that the forecast $31.6 billion and the January growth by $7.2 billion. (Event B on the chart.)
