Biggest Forex Scam Pt. V (David A. Smith)

February 18th, 2011

Every profession has its share of great businessmen, and every profession certainly has its share of con artists too. David A. Smith seems to be one such person who allegedly took over $200 million from more than 6,000 investors located in Orange County, Jamaica, the Turks …

EUR/USD Rises on Jobless Claims & Leading Indicators

February 17th, 2011

EUR/USD advanced today for the second day as the unemployment claims rose and the leading indicators grew less than predicted in the US. On the bright side, the report about the business activity was very optimistic. The currency pair was slowly declining throughout the day, but began to rise after the reports. EUR/USD trades now at 1.3598.…

February 15th, 2011

EUR/USD rose a little today after it dropped yesterday and currently it looks like it may resume its decline. This day, as well as the next two days, is rich for the macroeconomic data. The reports continue to demonstrate growth of US economy, but some of them were worse than expected. …

How Forex Traders Get Scammed by Brokers?

February 14th, 2011

Three months ago I’ve listed several ways for brokers to ”cheat” you legally, but those usually aren’t considered a scam behavior. Far more dangerous are the real Forex scams. I was fortunate enough not to open a trading account with a fraudulent broker, but I often read stories …

CFTC Demarche on Non-US Forex Brokers

February 13th, 2011

It’s not a news anymore that CFTC has sued 14 foreign brokers (and IBs) on January 26 in what they call a ”nationwide sweep”. But only now I’ve really understood how stupid it all is, and not without the help of CFTC representatives (kudos to them for that!).

EUR/USD Declines on Egyptian Unrest

February 11th, 2011

EUR/USD declined today for the second day, though the drop is slowing currently, as the social unrest in Egypt intensified as President Hosni Mubarak refused to step down. The US reports were in line with analysts’ forecasts and haven’t showed anything important. EUR/USD trades currently at about 1.3558.

EUR/USD Falls on Lower Jobless Claims & Budget Deficit

February 10th, 2011

EUR/USD fell today as the report about the US jobless claims didn’t support the prediction of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke that unemployment will remain elevated. The budget deficit also showed a pleasant surprise, decreasing much more than analysts expected. EUR/USD trades currently at 1.3599.

Bernanke Expects High Unemployment, EUR/USD Rises

February 9th, 2011

EUR/USD currency pair was rising today after the initial decline, but currently shows tendency for weakening. This day, as the whole week, is rather poor on reports. On Monday, though, consumer credit posted an impressive change that was three times bigger than in the previous month. Optimism for the US economy …
